SGP Amateur Golf Tournaments, What to Expect in 2024

Monthly Amateur Golf Tournaments

In 2023, we set out to build opportunities for the common golfer.  We are back in 2024 for our second season and it is going to be even better. "The SGP Golf Tour" will have six amateur golf tournaments taking place May through October, this works out to one tournament per month. Each amateur golf tournament will be teams of two playing at 85% handicap in the four ball, stroke play format.

The winning team of each amateur golf tournament will be awarded an exemption into the Serious Golf People Invitational, and will have the opportunity to compete and play for free. Every amateur golf tournament will also include "Closest to the Pin" and "Long Drive" competitions.

Additional prizes may be added throughout the season. "The AGS Open" on May 18th at Raven's Claw Golf Club will also award an automatic free exemption into the the "AGS Invitational".

Don't worry if you did not win a tournament and still want to compete in the Serious Golf People Invitational, there is another way to qualify. Finish in the top five of our leaderboard and earn your way into the tournament.

Our goal is to provide consistent well run amateur golf tournaments over the course of the season. We want to bring together golfer's of all skill levels for a fun and competitive round of golf.

The SGP Invitational we want to grow into a must play event in the Philadelphia Region, by providing an extremely curated experience. Over time we see extending exemptions to other tournaments and reserving a few "invites" for those we believe add value to the tournament.

The open amateur golf tournaments will take place at some of the best public golf courses in Montgomery, Delaware and Chester County and the Invitational at a private course to be named in the near future.

Don't worry if you played in "The Mixed Masters" or "Leroy Brown Invitational" those tournaments will be returning for 2024 but will stand on their own.
